The Assistance Fund Opens New Program for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Copay Assistance From The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Hepatocellular Carcinoma

The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new copay assistance program for people living with hepatocellular carcinoma. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to hepatocellular carcinoma, such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.

People diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common form of liver cancer, often experience abdominal discomfort, weight and appetite loss, and jaundice. Depending on the situation, some patients require chemotherapy, radiation, or targeted therapies.[1] Nearly 35,000 Americans are diagnosed with liver cancer every year.[2]

"Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be tremendously overwhelming for both patients and their families," said Gerald Lauria, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for The Assistance Fund. "I'm grateful to our generous donors for enabling us to open our new Hepatocellular Carcinoma Copay Assistance Program, which will alleviate patients' financial burden of accessing treatment."
