The New Tag Team GEICO Commercial is the Brand’s Most-Seen Ad in America Right Now
ATLANTA, February 4, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The Martin Agency, Adweek's 2020 US Agency of the Year, and Tag Team, creators of the '90s multi-platinum smash Whoomp! (There It Is), joined forces for another ultra-memorable GEICO™ commercial. This is the second time GEICO™ and Tag Team have worked together.
After the success of 2015's "BBQ Awards" television commercial for the GEICO™ app, which featured the hit song Whoomp! (There It Is), The Martin Agency enlisted the '90s hip-hop duo Tag Team, DC (The Brain Supreme) Glenn and Steve (Rolln) Gibson, to bring their trademark party vibe and off-the-charts energy to the newest multimedia advertisement for the insurance company. The commercial went live on Dec. 26, 2020, and has already become a favorite in the advertising world; it was named the Reel Ad of the Week by Reel360 after a few days on the air.
The project is a powerful collaboration between cultural icons. In the advertising world, GEICO™ commercials are known for their award-winning creativity and flair. And in the music industry, few songs can boast the staying power of Tag Team's iconic hip-hop anthem.
Remarkably, the '90s hit Whoomp! (There It Is) has been doing this for 28 years. The song has universal appeal, but the true allure behind the music isn't the catchy lyrics or the thumping beat. Producer Anthony Jabre Currently in Production on New Projects ‘Boiling Point’ and ‘Ire’

'Ire' marks Ross McCall's directorial debut, starring Craig Fairbrass, Stephen Odubola, and Jason Flemyng, and tells the story of life in prison for Steve (Fairbrass), who is incarcerated for double murder in a maximum-security prison. We follow as he navigates his struggle against redemption, the system, and his inner turmoil. His life is made even more difficult when his estranged daughter requests to meet him for the first time and a 19-year-old man (Stephen Odubola) is placed as his cellmate.

Zachary Levi, having recently starred in the box office hit “Shazam,” is now officially confirmed to star in the crime thriller “Rites of Men”. Anthony Jabre, of Vedette Finance, is set to produce alongside veteran producer Bob Cooper of Landscape Entertainment.
“Rites of Men” is about a man who will stop at nothing to find his 16-year-old son's killers. In the process, he looks for revenge but also finds the strength to forgive and become a better person. The screenplay is written by Oscar-nominated writer Jonathan Herman of the upcoming “Scarface” remake and co-writer of “Straight Outta Compton.” Having described “Rites of Men” as his passion project, Herman will also be creatively involved throughout the production process.
