Victor Nippert, who worked as a high school health educator for 32 years and enjoys photography and painting, has completed his new book, "More Musings and Poetry": a poignant assemblage of stories that relay the author's reflections and observations of the world around him as he moves through life with mindfulness and joy.

"For those of you that haven't seen the first 'Musings', it is a collection of pieces I wrote for my church's newsletter," writes Nippert. "'More Musings and Poetry' follows the same format. I really didn't mean to, but I tended to follow the writing style and collections that were written by Robert Fulghum ('All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten'), one of my favorite authors. My pieces are a bit shorter because we had limited space in our church newsletter, and I was careful not to get on the fussy side of the editor or the minister having to add another page and, thus, increase the cost of printing!"

Nippert continues, "I wish more people would take the time to write about the large and small things that happen to them every day. In years past, people wrote and kept diaries. They left us a history of what happened to them, their families, the towns, and the countryside they lived in. Writing makes us more aware of things around us that we often overlook. It gives us pause to look at the small things that add to our lives in many ways. At first, we don't realize we're doing it, but soon, it becomes part of our days to observe the little things that we rarely paid attention to before. And because of our observations and writing the little details, we begin to take notice of people, how sincere they are, and where they fit into our lives and communities. You may be very surprised at what you learn about them and from them. I hope, dear reader, that you find something in the contents that you find fun and interesting."
